The Bobcats (2-2) led by 11 points, 31-19, at the half before extending that lead to as many as 18 points in the latter period before coming away with the win over MU (1-3). Ohio U. opened the game on a 16-6 run, hitting four three-pointers along the way. With the Herd down by two, 21-19, with 6:34 remaining in the period, the Bobcats went on a 9-0 run to finish off the half, taking a 30-19 lead to the locker room. Jenny Poff played a large role in the run, hitting two field goals, including a three, to stretch the lead.
![]() The Herd opened up second half on a strong note. After trailing by 11 at the half, MU cut the lead down to four, 33-29, with just under 14 minutes left in the game. Down 33-23, MU notched six points in a row as Kendra King notched her first points of the game, sinking two straight baskets to cut into the deficit. From that point, though, it was all Bobcats as they would go on a 27-13 run over the next 10:39 to go up by 18 points. Ohio U. scored on six consecutive possessions, including four treys, with Ashley Fowler and Poff connecting on two apiece. Marshall closed the gap to 14 in the final moments, but would not get any closer. Senior forward Alyssa Hammond chipped in ten points and a team-leading seven rebounds. Junior college transfer Mystee Dale continued to improve in Tuesdays contest, scoring a career-best nine points while tying her mark with seven assists. Poff led four double-digit OU scorers, finishing with 14 including four treys. Fowler scored 13 points and also had four threes. Bushby scored 12 while Da'Keisha Mann scored ten, all coming in the second half. Three-pointers made the difference on Tuesday as the Bobcats shot 11-of-18 beyond the arc while Marshall was 0-4, the first time it failed to hit a three since a February matchup against Tulane. The Herd returns to action on Friday, taking on its third straight Mid-American Conference foe, facing Miami Ohio in the Pittsburgh Thanksgiving Tournament. Tip is set for 3 p.m. On Saturday, Marshall will take on either Pitt or Appalachian State, who beat Marshall in the Herd's season opener, 63-58.
