Former Marshall players in the National Football League - week two of exhibition games stats

HUNTINGTON — On Monday night, Vinny Curry had his second straight good game with the Philadelphia Eagles, who appeared to by not distracted by the sight of Michael Vick being injured -- fortunately, no broken ribs -- on the way to a 27-17 win over the New England Patriots on Monday night.
By the way, three former two-year players with the Thundering Herd are also involved with the Pats — former MU receiver Troy Brown and former Marshall tight end Jermaine Wiggins both work shows on Boston-area radio as well as spending time as analysts for Comcast Sports Net New England, while former Herd and Houston quarterback Chad O’Shea is a receivers coach with the Patriots.
Curry recorded five tackles -- one solo and four assists -- as the Eagles improved to 2-0 on the preseason with the win. It should be noted New England did not play starter Tom Brady at quarterback, taking a long look at the other quarterbacks in the stable.
Also at the top of this week’s list would be Indianapolis Colts linebacker Mario Harvey, who recorded five total tackles (one solo) in the Colts loss at Pittsburgh, 26-24.
Doug Legursky played on the offensive line for the Steelers in the NBC broadcast from Heinz Field, but quarterback Byron Leftwich watched from the sidelines throughout the game.
Not watching this week was Delvin Johnson of the Washington Redskins, who did not play last week in game one.
While Johnson only had one tackle in a 33-31 loss at the Chicago Bears, he made it count as a tackle-for-loss and sack of Bears’ QB Josh McCown, for a −13 yard loss.
While former Herd trainer Joe Recknagel enjoyed a win with the Detroit Lions over the Baltimore Ravens, 27-12, Albert McClellan started at rush end for the Ravens and Omar Brown recovered another fumble, coming off the bench at safety.
Randy Moss led the 49ers with three catches, and C.J. Spillman had three tackles, but San Francisco scored no touchdowns in a 20-9 loss at the Houston Texans.
Daniel Baldridge played tackle again in a 27-24 win over New Orleans, while the Giants’ Ahmad Bradshaw played only one series, rushing three times for two yards, in the big win over the New York Jets in the “Big Apple Showdown,” 26-3.
Lee Smith got his first catch of the season, for three yards, but his Buffalo Bills were crushed by Minnesota in the 34-26 win for the Vikings.
Finally, for the second week in a row, Johnny Jones did not play for the Green Bay Packers in a surprising 35-10 loss at home to the Cleveland Browns (who are 2-0/Go Browns! - ed.note).
